It's hard to get a handle on any situation that you weren't actually involved in. It becomes really easy to get swayed in the wrong direction. To this day a lot of people believe that this war started a rap beef that turned sour by the media. The fact of the matter is that this was a street battle that made it's way into hip hop. In the mid 90's there were no such thing as hip hop cops, and Pac was sayin whatever he felt like saying on his songs. Another misconception is that Deathrow was doing the bullying with the upper hand. Truth is, both sides were backed by armies and it was a tit for tat. The one main difference was the philosophy at Bad Boy was to walk the walk as opposed to talk the talk.
"Bad Boy's move in silence" and "We got millions of thug's on salary" weren't just sayings. Puff was a real smart dude, and he had some real life gangsta's behind him and they were choosing to keep a low profile.
read on
Last article I introduced you to one of Puff's "Thug's on salary"...Wolf. As an interesting side note, Wolf was also involved in the infamous Rucker Park beat down of Jim Jones. In the beginning of the video below, you can hear Cease describe Wolf in the burgandy hat.
Wolf was also down with the Black Mafia family, but was later killed by one of Big Meech's associate's when some shit hit the fan. People have told me that it was over money that was being laundered through Puff's chain of restaurants. But that's just some shit i heard.
Back to 95 though. After Suge's man was killed by Wolf's people, the war was officially on. This is what the 'Piss drinker' told the LAPD when he later snitched on Suge and won a $600,000 settlement (which he is spending somewhere in Jamaica after fleeing the US)....
An unknown man working on behalf of Suge Knight attempted to persuade close friend of Puffy’s who was a local New York record promoter working independently to turn informant and give up Puffy’s home address and address of his mother’s in promise of a recording contract and money. Suge Knight wanted to hunt down and kill Sean Puffy Combs and his entire family it would seem according to L.A.P.D. crime reports.
New York promoter, Mark Anthony Bell was a high school friend of Puffy’s and occasionally worked for the record exec. As Bell reports, he was contacted in September following the murder of Jake Robles by an unnamed voice asking for him ti give up the home addresses for Puffy and his mother. He was asked to write the details down on paper and drop it outside his front door and that’s all he had to do. In exchange he would receive a record deal. Bell refused to participate.
Three months later in Los Angeles, Bell was over on business when his frind Roderick Nixon was commissioned to photograph the Death Row Christmas party in the Chateau Le Blanc mansion on Astral Drive in the Hollywood Hills. Nixon organised an invitation for Bell to the evening event. They arrived at the party at 22.30 whereas Suge and entourage didn’t arrive till around 02.00. When he did arrive he noticed Bell near the dance floor. Suge approached him and asked why he didn’t cooperate with his requests. After insisting his ignorance of such details, he was ushered into an upstairs V.I.P. room by six men, two of were recording legends, Tupac Shakur and Dr. Dre. The room was filled with MTV reporters and a photographer being entertained. They were asked to leave by Suge’s brother-in-law, Norris Anderson who positioned himself outside the door as a lookout.
Inside, Suge pulled out a chair into the middle of the room for Bell and asked him to sit while seven men surrounded him. Suge demanded an explanation of his non-cooperation and quizzed him on knowledge of Puffy Combs. As Tupac whispered constantly in Suge’s ear, a Piru member started beating Bell with occasional blows dedicating each hit to Jake Robles vocally who eventually told him he was going to kill him. At which point Suge went to the bathroom and filled a champagne flute with urine and instisted Bell drink up. Bell escaped from the room and darted for the balcony overlooking the lobby entrance. He was caught hanging from the guardrail with an audience watching in awe. The group tried pulling him back up with the exception of Tupac who was pounding his grasped hands. When secured onto the floor they swooped onto him beating down on him with Suge ordering, “Body blows only!” He was choked until he almost fainted. Bell played dead while they stripped him of his gold Rolex watch, wallet and jewellery worth an estimated $20,000.
Don't for one second think that Bad Boy was backing down, if you need to remind yourself of who they had backing them then go back to part 1 and refresh. Big was actually the first one to start a feud on wax with "Who shot ya". This was a clear shot at Pac, even though they would deny and say it was recorded earlier. The fact of the matter is, the timing of the release was after Pac was shot and pointing fingers any chance he got to the media. Check the lyrics...
Who shot ya? Seperate the weak from the ob-solete Hard to creep them brooklyn streets Its on nigga, fuck all that bickering beef I can hear sweat trickling down your cheek Your heartbeat sound like sasquatch feet Thundering, shaking the concrete
When you start adding it up it get's clear. The dudes over at Bad Boy were foul play. Remember Pac describing him receiving phone calls in the hospital with a man whispering "you aint dead yet mutha fucka?" Keep in mind, that whole disiplining was over nothing...now Pac is gone completely reckless, so they're really after him. But now Pac has got backing, and their after Bad Boy as well.
Niggaz wanna creep, got ta watch my back Think the cognac and indo sack make me slack? I switches all that, cock-sucker gs up One false move, get swiss cheesed up Clip to tec, respect I demand it Slip and break the, 11th commandment Thou shalt not fuck with raw c-poppa Feel a thousand deaths when I drop ya
Right there Big is recognizing that he's marked, but not afraid. Side note: God damn, Big was such a beast on the mic. Make no mistake, that last little monologue on the track was definetely Big acting out what was gonna happen to Pac. "Didn't i tell you not to fuck with me".
Pac was completed enraged by this. Behind the scenes while Deathrow is tryin to kill Puff and his mom, Pac is also on a mission to get Big where it really hurts...fuckin his wife. Recent allegation by Faith claim that he didn't get to the punani...but he claimed otherwise on the most lethal diss track ever recorded..."Hit em up". The difference between this beef and beef's we are now accustom to is that Pac wasn't poppin shit in that track...all those threats were real. "Who shot me? but you punks didn't finish, now your about to feel the wrath of a menace"
and don't let the little lines pass you up...when he says "fuck your bitch and the click you claim". That click he's talkin about isn't Junior mafia or anything else....he's talkin about the crips. Make no mistake, this war quickly turned into some serious gang shit. Go back to the 2nd part when Henchmen said he approached Pac with a few crips he had with him. Or when in part 3 Wolf killed Suge's man with a few crips. Let me get a little ahead of myself and remind you of a Big line..."my team in the marine blue". With Deathrow's Blood affiliation, Bad Boy had the Crip's backing them....aka millions of thug's on salary.
Lets fast forward a little bit to the time of the "realest shit he every wrote"....you thought he was just saying that for jokes??This is also where Pac takes the shit to a next level and simply consumes himself with the beef like a mad man.
The first verse was dedicated to rappers, 2nd verse he did the unthinkable and called out some real niggas, 3rd verse was a mix.
I heard he was light skinned, stocky with a Haitian accent Jewelery, fast cars and he's known for flashing (What's his name???) Listen while I take you back (NIGGA SAY HIS NAME!) and lace this rap A real live tale about a snitch named Haitian Jack Knew he was workin for the feds, same crime, different trials
Right here he's referring to part 1 when I told you that Pac and Hatian Jack had a fall out cause Pac got the maximum penaly while Jack got a different trial and no jail time. Also, he said that the cops who arrested him for the rape case, were the same ones who showed up at the Quad shooting...making it look like Hatian Jack was a close informant.
promised a payback, Jimmy Henchman, in due time I know you bitch niggas is listenin, The World Is Mine Set me up, wet me up, niggas stuck me up Heard the guns bust but you tricks never shut me up Touch one of mine on everything I own I'll destroy everything you touch, play the game nigga All out warfare, eye for eye
Now we get the madness from Pac. Never has something this bold been laid out on a track...and like I said, Pac wasn't just talkin shit, the character he played in Juice took control of the real him and all he wanted was war.
Here we come, gunshots too Tutt, now you stuck Fuck the rap game, nigga this M-O-B So believe me we enemies, I go against all odds
For those who didn't know....Suge was affiliated with Piru, but later started his own gang with M-O-B...that's right, that was all Suge's gang. Even though Suge has a big image as a fucked up dude....it's still not accurate to what he actually was in the street. He owned Compton.
Puffy gettin robbed like a bitch, to hide the fact he did some shit he shouldn't have did, so we ridin for that
The problem that comes with having a million thugs on salary is that these thugs are only down with you using you for your money. Jimmy, Jack, Tut, the Crips...were all deep in Puff's pockets. Big and Puff were actually puppets who got taken into a dangerous path by the people around them, both were also brainwashed into the lifestyle.
And that nigga that was down for me, rest the dead
This is when it started to get really crazy. That line is directed at Stretch who was with him during the Quad shooting. Pac claimed that no one touched Stretch when usually the biggest dude gets hit first. Later in an interview Pac says that Stretch started hangin out with Bad Boy after the shooting. One year to the very DAY of the shooting, Stretch was murdered execution style...which makes that line foul as hell.
Pac's fascination with death wasn't something he was into. He knew, he had some bad ass mothafucka's after him...and he knew he was saying and doing some shit to piss them off. With all the gang war's behind the scenes, he had a good idea this would end with a tragedy so he started recording tracks to put out after his death.
To all you bitch made niggas, I'm comin for you Against all odds, I don't care who the fuck you is, nigga You touch me I'm at you I know you motherfuckers think that I forgot Hell no I ain't forgot nigga I just remember what you told me You said don't go to war unless I got my money behind me Aight, I got my money right here, now I want war
Once again, this is directly for the G's behind the scenes at Bad Boy. Dude completely lost it and wanted revenge. Remember that he admitted Hatian Jack and Tut introduced him to the gangsta lifestyle and schooled him on shit. They taught him the rules to war as well, can't start a war without money...and he now found his money with Deathrow, and it was on.
Unlike a lot of rappers, Pac came from the heart whether smart or dumb. Whenever listening to his lyrics you gotta understand that every little line had meaning to him. "I aint a killa but don't push me, revenge is like the sweetest joy, next to gettin pussy". That wasn't just some clever shit, he lived that...he really felt that.
More lyrical break downs to come in part 5, with a summary of how the blood bath happened.....details you may not have known.
I am way too tired to do any promoting today, plz my dudes, if your on a board post this shit up.
I need a team! send me an email dawgs.

ayo scolla, Its a good good read man. I was peeping your other post about The game vs Hov. Look dawg the Game is bi-polar/depressed just talk to anyone in his family (brother) they will confirmn this. Her hasn't made the adjustment to fame very well, on top of that 50cent dissed him, and Dre has dissed him hence he has made all those diss tracks gong at G-unit
and why he doesnt like hov? simple Hov didn't wanna get on a track with him, so the Game got salty and started talking reckless, however he knows he was playing with fire hence, he backed off and cop'd pleas.
Peace

yo, did Jimmy Henchmen get his people to shoot up Yayo's crib for smackin his boy??
anyways, Pacs my favorite of all time, I love his military minded style, I bump All Eyez on Me and 7 Day Theory before playin Bball hahaha that shit pumps me the fuck up like im bout to go to war or somethin, its too bad thats what became his downfall in the end, but I think Pac wanted it that way, he chose that destiny, die like man then live like a coward, thats why he predicts his death in so many songs.....real shit
Scolla
|2008-08-29 09:34:27
KJ, you are 100% right. Like i said earlier, G-unit got beef with henchmen. In that line i said above from Prodigy, Same song he says "i shoot shooters, and kill killers, send your Henchmen and ima make a movie out of niggas"
Henchmen was the mastermind of Game goin after G-Unit, and 3 weeks after his kid got smacked up, Yayo's house got shot up.
And Pac is way too real. I listen to his shit and get the same feeling. Listen to it now after knowing this and its gonna make it even more potent.

KJ, from what i know it was all good with them. Yayo and Henchmen are both Hatian and were cool, but then G unit said Henchmen was in Game's pockets and was askin G-unit for too much, and that was the real issue

part 4 is dope..theres definatley validity in what your writing cuz its the same stories and situations i been
reading about over the yrs... but i gotta a question for you..hopefullly u can shed sum inisght..
with what you've wrote it basically is painting a picture of blood vs crips..
that being said, with deathrown being blood, what was snoop's role in the midst of all this? cuz b4 pac got signed there he was main "rappin artist" and he was crip. and after pac, suge signed crooked i who was another crip..
so wut im askin is, how can this be a blood vs crip thing when the blood team (death row) was backin crips on there artist rosters??
Scolla
|2008-08-31 17:57:51
good question
In LA your either a blood or a crip, so when your running something like a record label its hard to have just a group of one so both try to mesh together. Snoops boys got mashed out several times by either Suge's dudes or Quiks people. In the next part ill throw in some shit about that.

|2008-08-31 18:52:16
next question .... every other theory about pac dieing basically points the finger at suge, which u also stated in part 1...this is basically telling you the opposite...at the end of the day,wut im asking is, is it possible that suge still had sumthin to do wit pac gettin got?... cuz even wit the facts u stated in this article, which are valid points, there has been numerous evidence and facts brought forth that implicate suge in pac gettin murdered as well...not that im supporting that theory or anything, but after stating all the involvement wit NY's deadliest gangsta's, do u honestly feel this puts suge in the clear??
Scolla
|2008-08-31 19:08:07
chill dawg!! we're gettin there, and i know right now it seems like one of the New York G's got him...but this story is deep and there's still more..
and like you said, all the shit you heard before is going to line up.
Scolla
|2008-08-31 19:12:56
i will say this...im gonna make the overall picture crystal clear for you...if you were a believer that Suge did it, im gonna show you that theres a strong chance it wasn't him...
BUT there's still a good chance it was LOL just cause he was SO SO foul back in those days
i would give it a 40-60 odds

I read the 4 parts..And I'm quite surprised on how much there is..
First off, never knew none of the info about Tut, Jack and ect...Pac mixed up with the wrong crowd right from the start..
Secondac even said from the start that he knew he was gonna die young, so he put out 3-4 tracks a night. I agree on that part
But if this shit is true, which I'm sure some of it is,but not sure if ALL of it...Then Diddy is a little rat, and just got lucky and rich thanks to Big...
But yeah...Scolla, can you give some info on whats going on w/ Tut, Jack, and all those other guys that set Pac up? Thanks bro, clicked 6 ads already, will click more tomorrow :_

well all the shit i took about the shooting is supported by the Pac Vibe interview and his lyrics in against all odds
all the info about the gangsta's themself i type out from the hip hop cop's book...he actually dealt with these guys personally
and to tell u the truth dawg, i know it seems hard to believe...but guys who are in the game or close to it...or have been following it closely...this is common knowlege.
In fact, im getting critisized on forums by heads for spittin common old shit.

I got a couple questions for you. First of all if Henchman is such a hardcore crip, how come he chose to work with Game, for the money? Why didnt The Game work with Suge since their both from LA?
another question
Is this whole crip and blood beef the reason snoop became cool with bloods and game became cool with crips?
last question (sorry)
so it seems as diddy has a big part in this whole situation. just curious how he hasnt gotten shot or attacked yet? i just saw a show called I want to work for diddy and miss combs was waiting for security to escort her out the building. haha. its all starting to make sense now.

Henchmen and the Bad Boy dudes were crip affiliated...they're New York niggas so they didn't grow up on the gang shit like the LA dudes did. They weren't obsessed like most gangbangers are but when they were out west they were with Crips.
Snoop was a rollin 20's crip since day 1...although crips and bloods dont get along, your pretty much forced to swallow it and co-exist...specially in business. Snoop did run into problems on Deathrow because of his Crip homies being around bloods...and ima go into that in the next part...
I believe Game was tryin to get on with Deathrow initially...and hes cool with Suge as it stands...but like i said, the gang shit isnt that serious in music...niggas can put it aside to get money
Diddy rolls mega heavy with security...you will never catch that guy without 3 big ass security guards...and since Suge went broke i doubt the hit out for his life is still there...doesnt mean SUge wouldnt love to see him dead
shits cooled off since anywyas

What about the connect between the crip that got stomped out at the death row party a year or so before pac got shot? The same crip set that started snatching death row chains off diss. The same crip set that the dude who snatched pacs chain in vegas belonged to? Isn't it true death row chains were all over the swap meets at that time and people were getting punked by that crip set for a year before they ran into pac in vegas and got his chain at the MGM just before the malay started that led up to the drive by?
